Stir-fried pheasant is a delicious and quick meal that’s perfect for showcasing the natural flavors of the meat along with fresh vegetables and aromatic seasonings. Here’s a simple recipe for stir-fried pheasant:

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound pheasant breast, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece of ginger, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Cooked rice or noodles, for serving
  • Optional garnishes: sliced green onions, sesame seeds

Instructions:

  1. Marinate the Pheasant:
    • In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, and cornstarch. Add the sliced pheasant breast to the marinade and toss to coat. Let the pheasant marinate for at least 15-30 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Vegetables:
    • While the pheasant is marinating, prepare the vegetables. Cut the bell pepper, onion, broccoli, and mushrooms into thin slices or bite-sized pieces as desired.
  3. Stir-Fry the Pheasant:
    • Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat. Add the marinated pheasant slices in a single layer, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Stir-fry the pheasant for 2-3 minutes, or until lightly browned and cooked through. Remove the cooked pheasant from the pan and set aside.
  4. Stir-Fry the Vegetables:
    • In the same pan, heat the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the minced garlic and ginger, and stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
    • Add the sliced bell pepper, onion, broccoli, and mushrooms to the pan. Stir-fry the vegetables for 3-4 minutes, or until they are tender-crisp.
  5. Combine and Season:
    • Return the cooked pheasant to the pan with the stir-fried vegetables. Toss everything together until well combined. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Serve:
    • Serve the stir-fried pheasant and vegetables hot over cooked rice or noodles. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
  7. Enjoy:
    • Enjoy your delicious stir-fried pheasant as a flavorful and nutritious meal!
